A practical preparation guide, not an individual assessment or treatment recommendation. Ask your clinician about your own circumstances.
Make your device manual the starting point
Hot weather, rain and travel make it useful to review the care instructions for your exact hearing aid. Keep devices away from excessive heat and moisture, and clean them according to the manufacturer’s directions. Ask the clinic to demonstrate a routine you can repeat at home.
Do not assume a water-resistance description covers every activity. Ask what the specific rating and warranty mean for rain, sweat and accidental exposure.
Prepare a small care kit
Ask the clinic which cleaning tools, storage case and drying accessories are suitable for your model. Confirm whether the charger has its own cleaning instructions. Keep the manual, model details and clinic phone number together so they are easy to find when travelling.
When packing for a trip, use the recommended case and check that you have the appropriate charging equipment or batteries. Keep devices, small parts and batteries out of children’s reach.
When something is not working
Contact the clinic for model-specific troubleshooting or repair advice. Describe what happened, the model you use and whether any accessory is affected. Ask about inspection charges and warranty handling before agreeing to repair work.
