Your first hearing test in Dehradun: a visit checklist

Start with a conversation

You do not need to arrive with all the answers. Write down the situations you would like to discuss: family meals, work meetings, phone calls or television. Bring those notes to the appointment so you can explain what matters to you.

If you already have hearing reports or use a hearing aid, bring them along. Ask the clinic when confirming your visit whether there is anything else you should bring and how much time to allow.

Questions for your appointment

Ask who will carry out your assessment, what is included, what the fee will be and how the results will be explained. Your clinician will decide which assessment is appropriate; this checklist does not describe a guaranteed test package.

Before you leave, ask for a clear explanation of the next step and whether a follow-up is needed. You can also ask whether a family member may join the discussion.
